We Don't Just Perform.
We Believe.

Our faith isn't a backdrop, it's the foundation. Here's what we hold to be true, and why it drives every production, every rehearsal, and every story we bring to life.

DGPA Statement of Belief

Scripture

We believe that the Holy Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s inspired, infallible, and authoritative standard for faith and life. It is the absolute standard for truth, moral guidance, and ministry. Scripture is our foundation for our beliefs, conduct, and interactions. (2 Timothy 3:16-171 Peter 1:24-252 Peter 1:20-21)

God

We believe in one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each fully divine, equal in power and glory, and perfect in unity. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, who governs the universe with justice and grace. Our creativity and service flow from His nature and should be directed back to His glory. (Deuteronomy 6:4Matthew 28:19Colossians 1:16-17)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died as the perfect sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns as our Lord and Advocate. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are redeemed and reconciled to God, and our hope rests in Him alone. (John 1:14Romans 5:8-10Hebrews 7:25)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God, sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, regenerate believers, and empower holy living. The Spirit indwells every believer, guiding, comforting, and equipping them with gifts for service and creativity. We rely on the Spirit’s presence for wisdom, unity, and truth. (John 16:7-131 Corinthians 12:4-7Galatians 5:22-23)

Humanity and Sin

We believe that humanity was created by God in His image, male and female, to reflect His glory and steward His creation. Through the voluntary choice of Adam, sin entered the world, bringing death, corruption, and separation from God. Because of this, every person inherits a sinful nature, inclined toward disobedience and unable to restore fellowship with God by human effort. Apart from divine grace, all are spiritually dead and stand in need of redemption through Jesus Christ, who alone reconciles us to God and restores what was lost. (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3:6-7; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, provided through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by works but secured through His finished work on the cross. Those who trust in Christ are forgiven, justified, and adopted into God’s family, empowered to live transformed lives that reflect His mercy. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:1; Titus 3:5)

Faith and Unity

We believe that every person is loved by God and that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross paid the price for the sins of all humanity. Every person is made in the image of God and, through God-given free will, has the opportunity to accept or reject the gift of salvation offered through Jesus Christ. We solely affirm that salvation is freely available to all who will believe. While Christians may differ in theological interpretation, we commit to approach such differences with humility, kindness, and grace, seeking unity in Christ above all else. We desire to be known as followers of Christ, devoted to truth, love, and the pursuit of deeper relationships with our Creator. (John 3:16-17; Genesis 1:27; John 1:12; Ephesians 4:3)

Christian Life and Stewardship of the Arts

We believe that followers of Christ are called to holiness, humility, and excellence in every area of life. Artistic ability is a gift from God to be used with integrity, creativity, and care to display God’s truth, goodness, and beauty. Every rehearsal, performance, and design should become an act of worship, done for His glory and the good of others. (Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Peter 4:10; Colossians 3:17)

Marriage, Gender and Sexuality

We believe that God wonderfully creates each person as male or female, and that these are two distinct and complementary genders. We believe that marriage is ordained by God as the covenant relationship between one man and one woman, designed to reflect the union of Christ and His Church, and that sexual intimacy is intended by God to occur only within this marriage. Any form of sexual immorality - including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, and use of pornography - is outside of God’s design and is sinful and harmful. Yet we affirm that God offers forgiveness and restoration to all who repent and seek His mercy through Jesus Christ, and that every person must be treated with love, compassion, respect, and dignity. Hateful or harassing behavior toward any individual is contrary to Scripture and the values of Deo Gloria Performing Arts. (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4-6; Hebrews 13:4

Evangelism

We believe that Christians are called to engage culture as salt and light, bringing God’s truth and beauty into the world. Theatre and storytelling are powerful means to communicate hope, challenge hearts, and reveal truth. Our goal is to glorify God and serve our communities through creative excellence that uplifts and transforms. (Matthew 5:13-16; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Acts 1:8)

Sanctity of Human Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life possesses immeasurable worth in every stage and condition—including unborn babies, the elderly, and those with physical or mental challenges. Because every person bears God’s image, we are called to defend, protect, and value all human life from conception to death as a reflection of His creative design and compassion. (Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5; Proverbs 31:8-9; Matthew 25:40)

Future Judgement

We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment of all people. Believers will dwell forever in the presence of God, while those who reject Him face eternal separation. This future hope compels us to live faithfully, proclaim the gospel boldly, and invest in what is eternal. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Peter 3:13)

Our Commitment

Because we believe these truths, we strive to conduct every aspect of Deo Gloria Performing Arts—on stage, off stage, and behind the scenes—in a way that honors God and reflects His character. We pursue creativity, collaboration, and excellence as acts of worship. Our aim is that every performance and interaction would point others toward the beauty and truth of Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24; Psalm 33:1-3)
